Similarities and differences and examples of safety benefits are explained.
Lecture 1: The presentation gives an overview of PSA's findings after investigating a recent serious accident in the North Sea, which clearly demonstrates the devastating results of incorrect planning and execution of lifting operations. Lecture 2: The presentation will discuss root causes, industrial and governmental initiative to reduce risk and improve safety during lifting. Suggestions will be made for the industry to achieve world class in offshore lifting. Svein Anders Eriksson, Discipline Leader, Logistic and Emergency Preparedness, PSA, Norway These standards specify the design criteria for cranes, where there is a need for "enhanced safety" in material handling. They have application beyond nuclear power plants, they can be used in aerospace, weapons handling, hazardous chemical handling or any critical crane application. Case
